I registered to be able to download it from them, not really interested in the key since I'm already on Closed Beta. I'm going to say that after I download it... you will the the sizes of my flames after that :P

I've heard from several persons that download speeds on FP are a lot faster than Blizzard's BT. My brother tried to download the client using Bliz's BT, and it was so damn slow that in three hours he could only download 100MB (and he was @ college). The upload speed was a lot faster than the download speed, and by that time he uploaded more than he downloaded.

I'm still waiting a confirmation of FilePlanet, THEN I hope I can get the URL to download the damn client and THEN I'm going to flame them :P

Oh... and I only paid $7.90 on FP.

But, yeah. THe reason why your brother downloaded slow is because his sysamdin did not have his ports open. Also, it is not very hard to start the download before you go to sleep, and it'll be finished bythe time you get to play it the next day.

If you're upload is higher than your download, simply cap the upload.

The default Blizzard Installer doesn't allow for capping your upload speeds. It also tends to sync up your d/l speed with your upload speed (barring other factors such as a sysadmin blocking ports.) My bro was d/ling with the Blizard frontend at about 15 k/sec or so, then he hacked out the torrent and used a different front end and starting getting 300 k/sec speeds lol.

I originally was at 20k dl, with a 140k ul. I capped the ul port at 30k, and I cruised at 120k dl for the rest of the download.

I've clicked the confirmation e-mail link ten or twenty times so far, and nothing. Tried IE, Netscape, Safari, tried deleting cache, cookies, temp internet files, everything. And yet, nothing is working. No confirmation e-mail, nada. And I can't even download the closed beta client, let alone get an open beta key. This is some serious scam bullshit.

I'm waiting as well the email to be able to download. Don't get confussed: you get an email when you suscribe (which is fast), and then you have to fill out a form and then receive an email to be able to download the client.

About downloading at college, maybe, but a lot of people are complaining about the download and upload speeds. As for me, I can't try @ home because I got a 56k, so if my brother and me don't find another way to download it from in a couple of days, I'll have to wait until the 5th to be able to download it @ work, which has a T1 (and still downloads slow, last patch I downloaded).

Call your CC company and tell them you're unsatisfied with services rendered by GameSpy, in fact, you did not recieve any services at all.
