Most people will probably say that monkey is the way to go.

Is there anyone who has tried loading up on "of the wolf" gear and checked out the regen difference?

Or anyone who has loaded up on "of the tiger" gear and checked out the damage difference in bs and ambush?

"of the monkey" gear adds soo much hp, it's great.
But after seeing how fast priest's health and mana regen during large battles, I'm beginning to think about trying agi/spir gear, just to see if it is worthwhile for grinding.

I also use an ambush/bs spec in pvp against mages, priests, and warlocks, and I'm really curious as to how much dmg ~90 extra strength would add to ambush and bs (from wearing all "of the tiger" gear).

Anyone have any experience with tiger or wolf sets that could comment as to their usefulness?

Well 7 str = 1 dps so that should give you some idea as to what extra damage you could do.

The reason so many people go with sta/agi items is because Rogues have a hard enough time as it is with leather ac being so weak. It's already hard enough to get invited to raids that require taking down a boss which uses some form of AoE. That is a Rogue's bane. The more hp and ac you have, the more valuable you are to groups in my opinion.

If you are solo pvping or solo grinding then maybe you're on to something. Tiger might indeed be good for solo pvp hit and run but it wouldn't be viable in group pvp because someone will most likely dot you and you won't be able to remove yourself from the battle to heal up. Wolf gear could be valuable for PvE grinding too. Only one way to find out!

7 str != 1 dps for rogues.

We checked it, Rogues, unlike Warriors/Paladins, get only 1 ATK power per 1 STR. They also gain 1 ATK power per Agi.

Since Rogues do not use shields, STR is absolutely useless to them, since it does the same thing as AGI but doesn't also add Dodge and Crit %. So you could try and maximize damage by going x of the Tiger, but you'd probably get better results from x of Agility.

That's assuming you don't carea bout your survivability at all. X of the Monkey is all around best for rogue, since it gives them good damage, and good survivability.

Also, as for Spirit, well, do you want to survive the battle, or do you want to heal up a bit faster afterwards?

If your out of combat, you can bandage/eat to regain lots of HP fast. If your in combat, the only thing that will keep you alive is how many HP total you have.
