31 Arcane seems like a very nice thing for a mage to have, with arcane power and all that jazz... I am aware there are alternatives in high Frost and high Fire, but consider options paired with 31 Arcane for this post :)
Frost offers:
- faster casting frostbolt
- better snare on frostbolt
- 100% crits on frostbolt
- evil snare on blizzard
- reduced mana cost for all frost spells
- insta refresh on nova and cone of cold every 10 minutes, if needed
(20 points: Improved Frostbolt, Winter's Chill, Ice Shards, Improved Blizzard, Cold Snap, Frost Channeling)
Fire offers:
- faster casting fireball
- 10% chance to stun/interrupt for 2s
- 90% effective crits, counting Ignite dot over 4 seocnds
- extra range (which is for some reason far deeper in Frost, go figure)
- a 6s cast time slightly better fireball, i.e. Pyroblast
- more crits off of the insta cast fire spell... and uh, scorch, in case that's ever used in PvP
(20 points: Improved Fireball, Impact, Ignite, Flame Throwing, Pyroblast, Incinerate)
Arcane for both of these options:
- uninterruptable arcane missiles
- 10% chance for a clearcast
- evocation
- instacast arcane explosion
- counterspell: silence
- 4 points of your choice of: mana shield (2)/dampen magic (2)/4 pts in arcane focus
- pom - instacast next spell
- arcane mind - 8% more mana
- arcane instability - 3% more damage and 3% more crits on all spells
- arcane power - 35% more dmg for 15s at the cost of 35% more mana
I'm currently undecided, but am beginning to lean Frost, just because of the control it offers and the mana effiency. Also, it seems like Improved Blizzard is a must have spell for any zerg vs. zerg encounter.
I don't think I go could pure frost because I can't give up Arcane's toys :P
Your thoughts and comments are most welcome :)
