Need some help!

Everytime I use layout my unit frame turns black as does my targets and I get mass errors whenever I target anything, so I dled the most recent versiion and still doing it, how can I fix this? =\

Do you have the latest version? Did you delete your WTF files before you installed? Do you HAVE a layout.lua in your Nurfed_Unitframes folder?

Deleted WTF before installing, I have the Layout.lua file, not sure on version, dled from nurfedui.net, so probably a dated version ;o.

Your layout.lua file is out of date. You either need to update that layout or download an updated version from the forums.

The latest new batch of versions break any previous layouts. Some are easier to fix than others, use the Search button to find help with updating old layouts.

I'm not sure you understand what layout.lua is used for; Its the file you use for custom layouts. Nurfed will run without it, albiet with the default unitframes. You can find custom layours on these forums which you replace the layout.lua file to change your custom layout. It seems you have an out of day layout, aka it won't work with the current version. Updating this file won't give you the old layout, it'll give you a new one from that file.

In essence, find a current layout you like, and try that instead, or see if the same layout was updated to work with your current version.

So if my version's out of date, where/how can I update it? I understand that the Layout.lua is for a custom layout, what I don't really understand is where I can check the versions, or the fact that it's outdated.

Theres not version number required or anything inside the file. The only was I could think of aside from just knowing the difference between the older version and the new one would be to just check the date on the file. The newest version of nurfed UF is dated September 28, 2006, so if the date on your layout.lua is before that, you can guess its dated. Aside that I don't know of anyhting method aside trial and error.
