I'm just curious. As of right now (lvl 46) it takes me about 8-10 (depending on how many afk breaks I take) hours of constant grinding to get a level. I was just wondering how long it takes to get from 59 to 60 if I were constantly grinding mobs within the lvl range.

Wow.. that sucks.. It takes me about 5-7 hours of questing to get a level at 52. I laugh at people that grind. Takes the fun out of the game.

I was getting around 1/2 a bar per 15 mins. at 59, I could be wrong.

If you are a partyable class...not that long, instance runs net good xp and loot. If you are rogue or paladin or hunter number 89017234718923649716292639....prepare to grind or get better friends/guild.

Grinding an instance that is appropriately leveled for your group (ie SM for 35-40 lvl) over and over is an excellent way to get fast xp per hour, but ONLY if you have a reliable group that works very well together, has good communications (vent) and is FAST. You can't grind instances at the slow pace most pickup groups do and you have to zone out, sell your crap, reset it and go again pretty quickly each time to keep the xp per hour ratio high. Problem for most folks is, you lose players who log out, or someone takes too long to go train spells/skills, or you get a lot of AFK and horsing around between resets. The flip-side to this is you have less PvP distractions and your group learns really good group cohesion and tactics.

We were averaging 20k an hour during SM days, now learning to do the same with Uldaman's. Takes a day or two of practicing to get the gel effect with pulls and speed.

I recommend instance grinding only in the above cases. In all other situations, you're probably much better off quest leveling and doing duo 2-3 man groups in zones where you get reliable xp per hour and easy quest turn-ins.

solo as a paladin 30-40 minutes a bubble.

It took me about 6.5-7.5 hours per level in the high 50's.

Where I have been grinding a bit lately, I have run across a Paladin grinding in the same spot. The Paladin is usually 2 levels behind me, but has almost the same kill rate as me.

I get about 6.5 hours a level there, so a Paladin in the right spots in the 50s should be able to crank out close to 1 bubble every 20 minutes. Just my observations.

I'm a Rogue for reference, and that's fighting level 50-52 undead in Western Plaguelands.

Plaguelands are the Paladin's playground. One of the few places with grindable mobs where a Pally can utilize all his skills (Exorcism)

I managed to grind to 60 with my warlock in the western plaguelands at the last cauldron. Took about 7 hours. If a warlock can do it, anyone can!

I was collecting scourgestones and cauldron thingos while I did it and every so often I would run back to the bulwark and sell loot, get more provisions, trade in scourgestone, and get some of that stuff (forget the name offhand, it has a 15min timer). Then I'd go back and dump in the cauldrons, then keep killing. I wasn't making much money from it because of this. But the random good drops and the excess runecloth did put me ahead in the end. Plus you get a bit of reputation with the Argent Dawn.

This is great advice, and it's exactly what I was doing in beta at around the same levels. I always say, grind when you have to, but do it smart and grind on mobs that give you other benefits than just xp if possible, such as quest reward mobs, mobs that drop lots of cloth to sell or turn into trade goods, or mobs you can gain faction points with...

Some people do the un'goro soil quest over and over to gain revered reputation with Thunder Bluff (one of the harder factions to get for undead) and others like to do the argent dawn one for the goodies you get to buy later on. I recommend the Argent Dawn scourge-stone faction gathering so you can purchase high end potions and other goods, plus get a bonus on selling your crap loot to their vendors.

Grinding to 60 should be done on mobs you get the most cash off of so that you have plenty of funds for repairs that you'll be making to your equipment on high end raids. Level 60s still have to earn cash somehow for this reason and of course those who save for the 60 elite mount.

Yeah, I agree. I haven't played MMO's since UO T2A so I really went into WoW blind, not knowing anybody. I have tried instance grinding and I find it extremely painful with pick up groups. Most are people who obviously don't take the game as seriously as I do. Since I have rerolled 3 times, I am only lvl 31 and its hard to find good reliable players around my lvl willing to be dedicated to instance runs (Most people who take the game seriously are 60 already). Due to this, I almost grind solo exculsively. Pick up groups are a waste of time in my opinion.

level 59-60 - I grinded Eastern Plaguelands near lights hope. I made decent money, had decent drops. Got the first mooncloth bag drop there as well as countless other great items to AH. There's a named there as well so that made for some added fun. 2 ziggs 1 held 5 Aboms which were easy to kill, and the other held 1 random mob who occassionaly had good loot.

I don't recall how long, did it in one night tho, and had a blast :) I had no pvp issues either, but of course, I was on the initial leveling curve, so I beat out the zergfests, thankfully, nurfed was more interested in leveling than having gnomes for breakfast.
