Pristine hide of the beast

Im close to getting the breastplate of bloodthirst, except for that part. So far skinning the beast with frinkle skinner only got us the regular leather. Allakhazam lists pristine hide as an epic item, so is it really that very rare ? Has anyone gotten it yet ?

No one got it in beta because beast was so hard to kill (bugged pattern and such made him regain hp) so it was never collected. But the chromatic carapace from gyth (easier) was collected, thus it's not impossible. Make sure to hang in there and warn your group should you ever get it, don't want some idiot to loot it !

i got mine on my second kill of the beast after getting my skinner

i could be really lucky though, we've killed him about 4 times after that with only random leather drops
