As an orc you should have the axe in your main hand. Also, put a weapon chain on it. Glowing weapons are a sign that reads, "Disarm me, please".

Interesting thing a guildmate found out the other day. If you're dual wielding, it doesn't matter which hand has the weapon chain on it. If the weapon chain is on your offhand weapon you still can't be disarmed.
