Sword Spec: The Facts

Title says it all. Looking for info on sword spec. Specific info. Things like off of what attacks it can proc, does it use weapon speed or normalized attack power, exactly where does it stand compared to axe spec, etc.

with crit u get one hit with double damage, with crit u get an extra attack which can crit AND the normal attack can procc too.
so a crit gives double damage a sword procc gives the chance to do quad damage :)

The first "sentence" of this doesn't exactly make sense, and I know that if both attacks from sword spec crit you can do quadruple the damage that a single non-crit swing can do. The comparison I'm looking for is more one from somebody who has tried each with similar weapons (rank 14 or the like) and can say what they feel about each from their experience/tests/whatever.

1.12 Nerf sword spec so it shouldn't proc off from itself anymore. =/ Personally i like Sword spec cuz im Alliance so i won't have windfury rapes till expansion, but Axes give me more reliable Damage but meh, i just dig swords. =p got Spinal and Zin'rokh and even tho the dps difference is 18.5 or something i still simply prefer Zin cuz i like sword spec, but dem i need a new weapon. =*(

Sword spec will proc off of any special or auto-attack up until next patch I believe, after that it will only proc on auto-attacks. Sword spec itself is just an instant auto-attack, not affected by normalization.

Theres a lot of other things beyond weapon specs that determine what weapon you'd want to use. Both axe and sword spec should be bonuses after getting a new weapon, not the reason you pick up that weapon. If you're rank 14 however, I'd recommend sword spec till next patch just cause its so much fun to sword proc and kill someone instantly.

Are you sure about this? The patch notes only say that it won't be able to proc itself anymore. And blizz has confirmed that currently there's a bug preventing all procs from occuring on special attacks.

Anyway I prefer sword to axe since as mentioned above, instakilling people is funnay.

i meant that with crit the one hit u do can can do double damage
a sword procc gives u an additional attack from a base attack, so u have 2 hits which can crit
this means -> 1x(2xdamage) vs. 2x(2xdamage)
