Reason for "Attack" hot key

I don't understand why many ppl have "Basic Attck" hot key on main panel in the first slot. Why whould you need it? For example: I deleted my right away and put charge in there.

IS there some hidden reason to have it on main bar?

if your engaged you cant use charge (target is too close to charge and attacking you)

if your too close to charge period and dont have the rage to do a slam or heroic strike etc...

Reason why its there? So in pvp when someone gets poly'd you can hit your attack and turn it off, so you don't break it.

Escape Works Just as well.

I use "A" as my attack Key.

Well, yeah ESC is an option too, but it's most annoying when you're fighting some mob and want to configure your hotkeys. You hit esc and... quit fighting hahaha.. Ok, thanks everybody. Now I'm sure I'm not missing out anything.
