ok, here is a list of the fixes i have used that other people here on the forum has made/used.

this is mainly for use to those of you who plan, or are, working on your own custom layouts, please to not hessitate to PM me if you got any other fixes (create a different thread for them please) and give me the link so i can add them.

Please keep replies to this thread to a minimum, i wont answer questions in this thread as that is why i am linking to the threads with the fixes in them so you can use those.

And if anyone knows how to fix this "Everything seems to work fine except for when you summon the pet or logging in with pet summoned, the xp bar won't appear until you gain XP for the pet or reload your UI. At the moment I don't know how to fix this.", make a post in the thread ^^

yeah, sorry erelen, for me to add your thread, you have to detailed explain how you added it, linking a layout file is not counted as a fix

Added class icon by Erelen, its not a fix, but might aswell put it here to help people out, im not that strict if its a fix, change or what else, as long as its explained how to do it, and ofcourse usefull :P

Defo sticky this, and I dont know if its just me but I had a problem with my frame not updating (didnt realise til I played an alt Id not been on for months) the level when I leveled up. Tried the fixes in the the list and still no good...anyone else got any suggestions?

I removed the XP bar following the instructions.. and now my character portrait doesn't show up anymore.. just get a blank black box. Any fix for this?

hehe, i am far from a programmer myself, i only play around with stuff untill it does what i want ^^ also a little logic thinking works wonders ^^

The language is really easy to learn.

Patches like that don't really work you would have to apply them yourself and if you are a programmer you should have no problems whatsoever to do anything.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned or not (i searched the forum, but couldn't find anything related to this issue), but there is a quick fix (i think :p) for the in-combat notification. in the current unitframes, whenever you enable and disable auto-attack, the in-combat flag appears and dissapears accordingly (turning on auto-attack makes the in-combat flag appear, turning it off makes it dissapear).

in lines 37 and 40 of Nurfed_UnitFrames.lua, remove or comment out the part of the if statements that reads 'event == "PLAYER_ENTER_COMBAT" or' and 'event == "PLAYER_LEAVE_COMBAT" or'

making this change seems to have worked very well for me, however since i am no expert on WoW events, i have no idea what other side effects this change would have.

do you know if this also fixed the same kind of bug with the HUD lighting up under the same conditions?

unfortunately no, since i don't use the HUD. However, i imagine its the same issue, so the fix should be same. Just have to look in the HUD lua file and find the lines where it checks the in-combat events and remove the same ones that were removed from the unitframes.

Does that pet fix work with the newer version of Nurfed? I looked for "PartyPet" and couldn't find it in the unitframes.lua

No, that pet fix no longer applies.

Party Pets are no longer their own frame design, they're now simply a child element to the party frame template.

This is the code you want:


--[[ pet = {
template = "Nurfed_Unit_mini",
Anchor = { "BOTTOMLEFT", "$parent", "BOTTOMRIGHT", -4, 2 },
},]]--

the "--[[" and "]]--" before and after signify that it's been commented out so it won't appear.

the difference between "--" and "--[[" is that the latter signifies the start of a "mass comment."

With "--" you have to place it at the start of every line, which isn't bad for a 3 line element, but gets extremely tedious with a 70 line function (not to mention if you decide to uncomment it later.) --[[ Comments out every single line that follows until you close it with ]]--.
