Hi i ran a search on the forums and got some tips on farming for a lvl 60 mount, i was wondering if anyone had any special places that they would like to share where they can get quick cash?
Someone suggested doing SM runs, this sounded like a good idea, someone also suggested just grinding on mobs that are lower levels then you and vending the grey drops. Which would you guys suggest doing?
Right now i'm a 56 rogue specced mostly in subetly and i can sneak to all the bosses, is this a good way to make money?
Thanks :)

for starters, your lvl 56 :] just get yourself to level 60, you'll find that (with the amount of XP/kills you need) your gold will start to rocket up fairly quickly. Once your level 60, you could destroy scarlet monastery instances at such ridiculous speed - easy money.
i really wouldnt be too concerned at the moment with having that 1000g - and yer, sm runs are pretty profitable :]

Play the auction house. I have 140 gold at level 39. ^_^

Hate AH soo much. Almost every item I try to sell is comming back w/ fee.. hahaha. Sure I go to the next vendor and trash it.

How much are we talking average? I'm assuming you're speaking of the armory or library.

On playing the auction house...
Every server/auction house is going to be unique. Some items will be in demand and others will be left out in the cold. A lot of it depends on where the bulk of people are in their leveling.
Buying and Reselling
Search the latest items posted in the Trade category for cheap buyouts. Same with Reagents. Many items in these two categories have very low default prices set by the AH, so resells in these areas usually net a lot of money. Black pearls, core of earth (and other rarer elements), and fused wiring net me at least 1.5-2g of profit each. I also do well reselling iridescent pearls, black vitriol, wildvine, some potions, and metals. In the armor category find helms or jewelry that are underpriced at off hours and repost them when there is more traffic. You may find items in other categories that resell well, but not as frequently.
Reselling recipes from vendors
I get kind of annoyed with people who do this, but I admit I do it occasionally myself. Trade goods vendors and specialty goods vendors typically have recipes for sale that can't be found anywhere else. A lot of people don't catch onto this until later in the game (or never). You need to click to the end of the vendor's inventory, so often people don't even know they are there. Reselling these makes some people good cash. When I run across something interesting while I am buying or selling to the vendor, I'll pick up the recipe and resell it at the auction house for a small profit. As a funny side note, the default price that is set for these items at auction is usually lower than when they buyer paid for it from the vendor and sometimes you can actually make a profit buying them at auction and reselling.
Farming
Right now on Mal'ganis you cant sell silk at all, but linen goes for 15-20s a stack. Wool also sells well, as does mageweave, but for some reason there is a glut of runecloth. Farming cloth is a great way to make money - and fast too. Farming the trolls in the Hinterlands/STV gives wildvine drops, which you can sell for 1g. Farm the Wetlands for iridescent pearls. (Alliance auction houses have high amounts of these because of the Wetlands murloc quests.) SM is by far the best place to farm in your 30s because parts of the scarlet set go for ridiculous prices, and the other random loot adds up fast. My favorite place to grind and make money is Arathi. First, no matter what gathering profession you are, you'll find good stuff here. Second all the grey drops sell well. Third, the rare/uncommon drops are great. I've gotten Frostreaver Crown twice killing raptors, which nets 8g at auction. I also get very nice greens.
Tradeskills
The best tradeskill money makers are mining and skinning. Herbs are ok but take too much effort. Blacksmithing is the next best trade but only if you focus on what's missing in the market. Don't spam the auction house with crap no one wants. Make daggers and know which pieces of equipment are superior or equal to drops and thus worth making. I'd put alchemy next, then leatherworking. Sorry, tailoring is crap. :[ Enchanting makes mega money on the high end and will help you get a lvl 60 mount but only drains lvl 40 mount money.
Anyway, those are just a few tips. I worked pretty hard to get my mount at the crack of 40, but I was also able to pay for 50g of my fiance's mount, who leveled right after I did.
EDIT: Ack, I forgot this was about getting a level 60 mount. Sorry, soem of the above won't net you much cash at a high level (like selling recipes from vendors). I only got to 50 in beta, and I'm lagging behind in retail because for some reason I decided to make 2 characters in their 40s and one in her 30s, but what I do recall was that Azshara was my favorite place to farm. Especially the elite ghosts who spawn every few hours in the graveyard. The naga sometimes drop blue items. You'll get lots of mageweave anyway from all the humanoids.
