Distract is a Major PVP Utility for Rogues

I dont know if you guys have used it as much as I have, but I find that distract is one of the most usefull tools in pvp. Many people use autorun when they are running about, and often times in groups people use /follow. If you use distrct it breaks the /follow command, and if the person is autorunning, and you distract them to face you then they will turn and autorun straigh back towards you. I have been using this to chase runners and split up groups for some time now, and I have found it to be one of my best abilities.

It does, and its a VERY underused ability, I was suprised when a lvl 20 guildy managed to distract my lvl 57 warrior, that could be a great escape opportunity also....you are getting beat down face to face, gouge and vanish are down...just distract and leg it like hell.

You have to be stealthed to distract. It does work in PvP and it does break casting.

you cant use it on people who are in combat so you can't really break casting with it, i usually just use it to catch runners

I've used it for PvP to make people turn their backs, but the above is a really neat trick.

To extend that principle, it would be fun to make autorunners run off of a cliff or into a cave full of elites or something =)
