I haven't got high enough level to gain this talent yet, but I would like to know more about it. Its description says "Ignites a target that is already afflicted by Immolate, dealing X to Y Fire damage and consuming the Immolate spell."

Does this mean it will:
1) simply deal X to Y fire damage and then remove the immolate dot?
or
2) deal X to Y fire damage + the remaining immolate dot damage, and remove the immolate dot?

Maybe this will help explain my question a little better. Let's say your immolate spell does 322 damage (rank 7 immolate with improved immolate rank 5 - to get conflagrate) and its dot does 458 damage over 15s. So you cast immolate on someone, and then you cast conflagrate on the same target. Will conflagrate simply deal 367 to 457 damage (rank 4) and remove the immolate dot? Or will it deal 367 to 457 + the remains of the 458 immolate dot damage, and then remove the dot?

If conflagrate deals damage like described above (X to Y + immolate dot) and removes the immolate dot, then it's alright since it has a cooldown of 10s. But if it simply deals its damage (X to Y) and then removes the immolate dot, I do not understand why anyone would waste talent points to get it.

Can anyone please shed some light upon this?
